2022 Most Impactful Coaches: Women’s NAIA

Anderson Lignon - Middle Georgia

Anderson Lignon is entering his 17th season as Head Coach for Middle Georgia University. Lignon boasts over 240 career wins during his time as a head coach. In the 2020-21 season, Lignon led the Knights to a 9-3 conference record, and he helped them secure a SSAC East Division Conference Championship. Prior to MGU, Lignon spent 5 years as the head coach for Alabama Southern, where he was named the Alabama Community College Conference Coach of the Year during the 2001-2002 season as well as the 2003-2004 season. 


Anju Weissenfluh - Eastern Oregon

Eastern Oregon Head Coach, Anju Weissenfluh, is entering her 22nd season at the helm of the EOU Women’s Basketball team, as well as her seventh year as Athletic Director for the Mountaineers. Weissenfluh has amassed an astounding 475 wins at EOU, making her the winningest coach in program history. In her time with the Mountaineers, Weissenfluh has had 15 seasons of 20-plus wins, 11 appearances in the NAIA Division II Women’s Basketball National Championships, shared or won outright 11 Cascade Collegiate Conference regular season titles and won five conference tournament championships. Weissenfluh has acquired a winning season in all of the last 20 seasons, and her impressive accolades continue to grow. 


Beck Flanagan - Hope International

The 2022-2023 season will mark Beck Flanagan’s sixth season at the helm of Hope International’s women’s basketball program. While at Hope International, Flanagan has led the Royals to two postseason appearances and had one NAIA All-American Selection. Prior to joining the staff at HIU, Flanagan was an assistant coach at Loyola University New Orleans, where he was named NAIA Assistant Coach of the Year by NWBCA in 2016 after he aided in the Wolf Pack securing their second straight SSAC Tournament title and a spot in the NAIA National Championship. While at Loyola, Flanagan helped guide the team to four seasons with 23 or more wins, four conference titles, and developed the winningest recruiting class in Loyola history. 


Bo Browder - Xavier University (LA)

This season, Bo Browder will enter his 23rd season as Head Coach for Xavier University Louisiana, where he holds the record for the most seasons as a XULA Head Coach. Browder has amassed almost 500 wins as Head Coach of the Gold Rush, and won Louisiana Coach of the Year during the 2018-2019 season as well as being a 6-time Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Coach of the Year. During his tenure at XULA, Browder has led the Gold Rush to 8  GCAC regular-season championships, 9 Nine GCAC Tournament championships, and 16 qualifications for the NAIA Division I National Championship Tournament.


Brian Orr - Lewis-Clark State

Brian Orr completed his 21st season as Head Coach for Lewis-Clark State during the 2021-2022 season. Orr has accumulated an impressive 480 career wins, and is the all-time winningest coach in the history of the Lewis-Clark State College women’s basketball program. In the program’s first year in the Cascade Conference in 2021, Orr led the Warriors to a tournament title. Prior to joining the CCC, Orr won five Frontier Conference regular season titles, seven Frontier Conference tournament titles, and played in 13 Frontier Conference Championship games. Orr amassed five Frontier Conference Coach of the Year awards, and won Cascade Conference Coach of the Year in 2021. 


Chad Folsom - Benedictine

Chad Folsom took over as the Head Coach for Benedictine in the 2001-2002 season, and since then has become the program’s all-time winningest coach with over 430 career wins. Under Folsom, the Lady Ravens have averaged 21+ win seasons for the last 20 years. Folsom has been named Heart of America Athletic Conference Coach of the Year twice and led the program to the NAIA Div. II National Championship Tournament in both 2005-'06 and 2007-'08. Under his leadership, the Lady Ravens have competed in the NAIA Division I National Championship Tournament six of the last nine years. Prior to joining the team at Benedictine, Folsom coached at Lamar Community College, where he brought the men’s program their first winning season in 8 years. 


Chris Minner - Midway

Chris Minner will begin his third season with Midway during the 2022-2023 season. During the 2021-2022 season, only his second season with the Eagles, he led the program to a 15-2 conference record and a trip to the River States Conference Championship game. Prior to joining the staff for Midway, Minner spent one year as an assistant at University of North Texas, where he helped lead the Mean Green to a postseason appearance, while attracting the No. 1 recruiting class in Conference USA. From 2012-18, Minner was the head coach for Our Lady of the Lake University, where he amassed 123 career wins and named named the NAIA National Coach of the Year following after leading the saints to a 30-2 overall record, with a perfect 20-0 record in RRAC play. 


Chris Mouat - Montana State Northern

Chris Mouat is entering his 17th season as Head Coach for Montana State University-Northern. In 2017, Mouat became the all-time winningest coach in program history and he has amassed over 280 career wins. Under Mouat, the Skylights have led the country in free throw percentages twice, once in the 2005-2006 season and again in the 2010-2011. He earned the Frontier Conference Coach of the Year honors in 2016, and In 2017, Mouat helped found the Hoops for a Cause campaign with other Frontier Conference coaches, which has raised over $50,000 in five years for worthy causes throughout Montana. 


Chris Nelson - Bethel University

Chris Nelson is in his 16th season as Head Coach for Bethel University, as well as his fourth year on the board of directors for the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association. Nelson has been named conference coach of the year five times during his career, as well as being a four-time finalist for both the WBCA National Coach of the Year and WBCA Regional Coach of the Year awards. Nelson boasts 330 career wins, and led the Lady Wildcats to a Southern States Athletic Conference tournament championship a SSAC regular season title during the 2019-2020 season, where the Wildcats would’ve made their 8th straight appearance in the national tournament. Prior to becoming head coach, Nelson spent 5 years as an assistant for Bethel as they transitioned from DII to DI in the NAIA.


Courtney Boyd - Clarke

Courtney Boyd is entering her 5th season as Head Coach for Clarke. She is coming off of three-straight NAIA tournament appearances and two consecutive quarterfinal appearances in 2019 and 2021.This season, Boyd became the program’s all-time leader in wins as head coach, and she also led the Pride to their first ever NAIA DI Women’s Basketball championship appearance. In the 2017-2018 Boyd tied the school record, leading the team to 20 wins. At the conclusion of the 2016-2017 season, Boyd received the WBCA Thirty Under 30 award. 



Craig Winston - Ottawa University

Craig Winston will be entering his second season as Head Coach at Ottawa during the 2022-2023 season. He joined the Spirit with nine years of experience as a head coach, seven of which were in the NAIA. He has accumulated over 240 wins, and had eight seasons of 20+ wins, with five of those being 30+ win seasons. Prior to Ottawa, Winston was the head coach at Southern Nazarene, where he won two NAIA National Championships and was the winningest coach in program history. In all seven seasons he was there, he took SNU to the Fab Four and earned the NAIA National Coach of the Year award twice. 


Dave Denly - Bellevue

Head Coach Dave Denly is going into his fifth season as head coach at Bellevue. Under Denly, the Bruins have finished at least 10 games over the .500 mark for three straight seasons and had multiple 20+ win seasons. In the 2018-19 seasons, Denly led Bellevue to both the NSAA Regular-Season and Tournament Championships to earn the program's first berth into the NAIA Division II National Tournament. Prior to joining the staff at Bellevue, Denly spent 17 seasons as head coach at Southwestern, where he became the winningest coach in program history. There his teams had eight consecutive 20 win seasons, setting a school record for total victories and season and conference wins in a season. 


David Smalley - University of Rio Grande

David Smalley is in his 30th season as Head Coach for the University of Rio Grande. In his career he boasts almost 600 wins and guided the Redstorm to six NAIA National Tournament appearances. Since 1992, Smalley’s teams have won an average of 20 games a season, and has made the school record of 27 wins twice. Under Smalley, Rio Grande has won the Mid-Ohio Conference championship twice. In 2018, the Redstorm won both the River States Conference regular season and tournament championships and the 2021 team captured the RSC tourney crown.


Drew Olsen - Concordia University - Nebraska

Drew Olsen is in his 16th year as Head Coach for Concordia University - Nebraska. Under Olsen’s leadership, the Bulldogs have reached historic feats. Olsen is the winningest coach in program history with over 420 career wins, and in 2019 he led the Bulldogs to their first ever national title. Over the past 11 seasons, Olson has directed his teams to a combined 12 GPAC titles, 11 national tournament trips, and five national semifinal appearances. Olson has led the Bulldogs to national tournament appearances in 14 of the past 15 years. His 14 national tournament trips and 26 national tournament wins are the most among all coaches in the history of Concordia women's basketball. Olsen has been named the GPAC Coach of the year on three occasions, and in 2019 was awarded the Phyllis Holmes National Coach of the Year Award. Olsen is also an alumni of Concordia University - Nebraska.


Ethan Whaley - Indiana Wesleyan

Ethan Whaley became the Head Coach for Indiana Wesleyan in 2017, and is now going into his sixth season with the Wildcats. The Wildcats have obtained a 20+ win season every year with Whaley at the helm of the program, with the 2021-2022 season ending in a 30-5 record. Whaley guided the 2021-2022 season team all the way to the Round of 16 in the NAIA National Championship. In the 2020-2021 season, the Wildcats made it all the way to the Fab Four of the NAIA Women’s National Championship. Under Waley the Wildcats have set 3 school records, including total three-points made in a season and made number of three-pointers in a game. 


Ginger High Colvin - Campbellsville 

Ginger High Colvin is entering her 16th season as Head Coach of the Lady Tigers. Colvin has led Campbellsville to the NAIA Fab Four twice, and in their run during 2016-2017 season they pulled off two upsets. This season also marked the schools 25th tournament appearance, breaking the NAIA record. During the 2014-2015 season, Colvin led the Lady Tigers to the programs first ever NAIA National Championship and a 33 win season. During the 2018-2019 season, Colvin was named MSC Coach of the Year. At Campbellsville, Colvin has amassed 384 wins and made the National Tournament in all but her first season. 


Hannah Moeller - Mid-America Christian

Mid-America Christian Head Coach Hannah Moeller is entering her sixth season as head coach for the Evangels. During the 2020-2021 season, Moeller led the team to their first ever Sooner Athletic Conference regular season championship, and they appeared in their first ever NAIA National Championship Tournament. The 2019-2020 season led the Evangels to their fourth straight 20+ win season under Moeller. In her second season as Head Coach, Moeller led the Evangels to their third ever NCCAA National Title, and its first since moving from DII to DI. Prior to joining the team at MACU, Moeller was the coach at Randall University, where she was named the 2016 NCCAA National Coach of the Year, won two national championships, and was twice named Southwest Regional Coach of the Year.


Jamie Sale - Morningside

Head Coach of Morningside Jamie Sale was the fifth active NAIA head coach to reach 600 career wins. He enters his 24th season with the Mustangs, and has become the winningest coach in program history. 22 of his 23 teams have qualified for the NAIA DII tournament, and Sale has been named NAIA DII National Coach of the year four times during his tenure at Morningside. Sale led the 2008-2009 Mustangs ​​to a perfect record of 38-0 to become only the second team in history to capture the NAIA Division II crown with an undefeated record, and in the 2003-2004 season, Sale led Morningside to its first ever national title in a team sport. Sale’s accomplishments at Morningside are incredibly impressive, including 19 consecutive NAIA tournament appearances, a school-record 15 consecutive 20-win seasons, seven NAIA tournament Final Four appearances, 11 Great Plains Athletic Conference regular-season championships, and six GPAC Post-Season Tournament championships.


Jason Christensen - Dakota Wesleyan

Jason Christensen is entering his 13th season as Head Coach for Dakota Wesleyan. In the 2021-2022 season, Christensen led the Tigers to an overall record of 27-8, the conference tournament championship title, and a second round run in the NAIA National Women’s Basketball Tournament, and he earned the GPAC Coach of the Year award. Under Christensen, the Tigers won a national title in 2018, a season in which they were the nationally top ranked team for six straight weeks. Prior to Dakota Wesleyan, Christensen was the head coach at Mount Vernon High School, where he accumulated over 170 wins. 


Jeff Hans - Thomas More

Jeff Hans is going into his 11th year as Head Coach for Thomas More. Hans boasts 261 wins with the Saints, and under Hans, the Saints have garnered seven conference regular season titles, eight conference tournament titles, nine national tournament berths, including two NCAA Division III National Championships, and one NAIA National Championship Tournament Runners-up. Hans has created a legacy of winning at Thomas More, and majority of his seasons have been 20+ win seasons, with a few being 30 or more win seasons. 


Jeff Reis - University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis

Jeff Reis is entering only his third year as Head Coach for UHSP, however under his leadership, the Eutectics have already broken 12 individual records as well as two program records, including most season wins and most conference wins, and in less than two years has become UHSP’s winningest coach in the program’s history. Reis was also the winningest coach in program history at Lindenwood University-Belleville, where his 2016-2017 squad set a program record for wins (22) and qualified for the NAIA National Tournament for the first time in program history. During the 2021-2022 season, the Eutectics had a 20+ win season under Reis and advanced to the AMC semifinals. 


Jeff Rice - Tennessee Wesleyan

Tennessee Wesleyan Head Coach Jeff Riceis entering his 16th season as head coach for the Lady Bulldogs. Rice boasts almost 300 career wins and has led the Lady Bulldogs to six conference champions  and  six NAIA National Tournaments. He was also named Appalachian Athletic Conference  Coach of the Year five times. Rice was also the softball coach for TWU from 1995-2006, where he won 350 games and was named conference coach of the year 3 times. He is also currently beginning his fourth season as head men’s golf coach for the Bulldogs.


Jessie Biggs - Indiana Tech

The 2022-2023 season will mark Jessie Biggs’ 11th season as Head Coach for Indiana Institute. Biggs, who also serves as the Director of Athletics, has amassed over 200 career wins in her time as Head Coach. During the unprecedented 2020-2021 season, Biggs led the Warriors to a 27-3 record and their fifth straight appearance in the NAIA National Championship. In 2019-20 the Warriors went 30-4 and made their fourth straight appearance in the NAIA Division II National Championship. Tech went 19-1 in conference play to win their third consecutive WHAC Championship and took home their second straight WHAC Tournament title. In the 2018-2019 season, Biggs led Indiana Institute to a record 32 wins. 


Jody Martinez - Taylor

Jody Martinez has been the Head Coach of the Women’s basketball program at Taylor since 2017. In his first season, Martinez led the Trojans to a 24 win season, their first 20-win mark since 2012, and he also led them to their first NAIA National Tournament appearance since 2010. In his second season, he led the program to its first Crossroads League regular season championship since 1996 and first Crossroads League tournament championship since 1998, while advancing to the Round of Eight in the NAIA National Tournament for the second time in program history. After this fantastic run, Martinez won the 2019 Crossroads League Coach of the Year as well as the 2019 WBCA NAIA National Coach of the Year. Martinez currently has over 500 career wins, and prior to his time at Taylor he coached 16 seasons at Bethel College and one at Southeastern where he led his teams to 20-or-more wins in all but one season, qualified for eight NAIA National Championship Tournaments and advanced to five Elite Eight appearances, while piling up 11 Coach-of-the-Year awards.



John B. Wethington - Lindsey Wilson

John B. Wethington is entering his 33rd season as Head Coach for the Lindsey Wilson Blue Raiders. He is currently second on the NAIA’s active all-time wins list with an impressive 653 victories. Under Wethington, the Blue Raiders have reached the NAIA National Tournament 15 times, reaching the round of 16 five times and two appearances in the final eight. During the 2016-2017 season, Wethington led the Blue Raiders to a 32-3 overall record, which was the most wins in a single season in program history. He has a history of 20+ win seasons at Lindsey Wilsons, and also led them to the national quarterfinals for the first time in program history during the 2015-2016 season.


John Pfaffl - Cardinal Stritch

John Pfaffl has been involved on staff at Cardinal Stritch since 1989, but the 2022-2023 season marks his thirteenth year as Head Coach for the Wolves. Pfaffl has accumulated over 250 career wins and won CCAC Coach of the Year twice. During his first ten-seasons, prior to the NAIA combining their two divisions, Pfaffl’s teams qualified for the NAIA DII National tournament every season, advanced to the Sweet 16 six times, and Pfaffl led the Wolves to their first ever Final Four appearance in 2014. Pfaffl has a history of 20+ wins at Cardinal Stritch, and has led his teams to the National Tournament over seventeen times. 


John Lewis - MidAmerica Nazarene

John Lewis has been the Head Coach of MidAmerica Nazarene since 2011, and is entering his 10th season as Head Coach. During his tenure, he has led the Pioneers to 3 Heart championships, 4 conference tournament championships, and 10 national tournament appearances. Under Lewis, the Pioneers won the National Championship for the first time in program history in 2016. Lewis boasts over 250 career wins and won the Heart Coach of the Year award twice, as well as being named NAIA National Coach of the Year in 2016. Lewis has coached 4 Conference Players of the Year, numerous All-Conference selections, and 15 NAIA All-Americans.


K.C. Bassett - Sterling College

K.C. Bassett is going into her eighth year as Head Coach for Sterling College. The 2020-2021 season was one of Bassett’s most successful, as they finished with a record of 30-1 and won the KCAC regular season and conference tournament titles with no losses, and made their 3rd consecutive NAIA National Tournament Appearance. Bassett has won many awards, such as Lonnie Kruse KCAC Women’s Basketball Coach of the Year, as well as the WBCA NAIA Coach of the Year award. Prior to becoming the Head Coach at Sterling, Bassett was an assistant coach for the Lady Warriors under Sterling College Hall of Famer Lonnie Kruse. 


Kellie Kennedy - Loyola University New Orleans

Kellie Kennedy will be entering her 15th season as Head Coach for Loyola New Orleans during the 2022-2023 season. Kennedy has over 300 career wins, and was named ssac Coach of the Year in 2021 after leading the Wolf Pack to its fifth SSAC tournament title. During the 2014-2015 season, Kennedy led Loyola New Orleans to its first ever SSAC Championship Title. In only her first year, she led the Wolf Pack to a GCAC Regular Season Championship, a GCAC Tournament Championship, and a spot at the NAIA National Tournament. Since then, things have only improved and Kennedy continues to lead Loyola New Orleans to winning seasons. 


Kevin Herod - Talladega College

Kevin Herod, an alumni of Talladega College, is in his eighth season as Head Coach for the Tornadoes. During the 2021-2022 season, Herod led Talladega to an impressive 21 win season and a trip to the SSAC Conference tournament Finals and the NAIA Championships. During the 2020-21 season, the Tornadoes made it to the GCAC Conference Tournament semifinals under Herod. During the 2018-2019 season, the Tornadoes were 12-0 at home under Herod and made it to the second round of the NAIA National Tournament. Herod has over 170 career wins and continues to create a legacy of winning at Talladega. 


Kirsten Moore - Westmont College

Kirsten Moore just completed her 16th season as Head Coach for Westmont College, and in this 16th season she led the Warriors to the program’s second National Championship in history. Moore has received the NAIA National Coach of the year award twice in her career. Moore led the 2012-2013 Warriors to a National Championship as well for the first time in program history, and in 2018 she led the team to be National Runner-Up. During the 2019-2020 season, Westmont entered the NAIA National Tournament as the #1 seed for the first time in the program’s history, but COVID-19 caused the ultimate cancellation of the tournament. During the 2019-2020 season, Moore led Westmont to a GSAC regular season championship, and extended the Warrior’s conference record of consecutive GSAC Tournament titles to five. Moore has been named GSAC Coach of the Year six times. 


Krista Van Hauen - St. Ambrose

Krista Van Hauen was named Head Coach at St. Ambrose in 2010. Van Hauen has amassed over 200 career wins and is a two-time conference coach of the year. During her career, she has led the Bees to the NAIA National Championship three times, one of which was during her inaugural season as head coach. She has compiled five 20+ win seasons at SAU, and in 2015-2016 she led the Bees through a successful first season in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference, finishing with 22 wins overall. Van Hauen has coached 13 first-team all conference players, and, prior to her time at St. Ambrose was an assistant at the University of Northern Colorado. 


Lauren Glenn - Olivet Nazarene

Lauren Glenn is going into her 9th year as Head Coach at Olivet Nazarene. In her nine years, she has led the Tigers to eight 20+ wins easons, and won IBCA NAIA Coach of the Year six times. Glenn has led ONU to an appearance in the NAIA National Championships in all but one season during her tenure. Under Glenn, the Tigers have been CCAC Champions on three occasions, and been the NAIA National Scoring Leaders for nine consecutive years. In 2016 Glenn was awarded the WBCA Regional Coach of the Year. 




Lindsay Woolley - Montana Western

Lindsay Wolley is entering his 10th season as Head Coach for Montana Western with over 170 career wins. In 2019, Wolley was named National Coach of the Year and has been named Frontier Conference Coach of the Year multiple times. Under Woolley, the Bulldogs have made five straight NAIA tournament appearances, and in the 2018-2019 season, Woolley led the team to the programs first NAIA DI Championship. That same season the Bulldogs finished with 30 wins and won the Frontier Conference regular season crown. In 2016-2017, Woolley led the Bulldogs to their first NAIA National tournament appearance in 10 years. 



Mike Davis - Central Methodist

The upcoming season will mark Mike Davis’ 33rd year as Head Coach for Central Methodist University. Davis has over 700 career wins and is currently the second winningest active coach in NAIA DI women’s basketball. Under Davis, the Lady Eagles have had 19 National Tournament appearances , 11 Conference Championships, and produced 24 NAIA All-Americans. During the 2019-2020 season, Davis led the Eagles to a 31-2 record and a sweep of regular season and postseason conference titles. In 2017-2018, CMU made it to the Elite Eight at Nationals and won the Heart regular-season and tournament title. During his tenure, Davis has received 10 Conference Coach of the Year awards, and in 2009 he was inducted into the CMU Hall of Fame. 


Rick Reeves - University of the Cumberlands

Rick Reeves has over 30 years of coaching experience, but he is entering his 3rd season as Head Coach for the University of the Cumberlands. Reeves picked up his 500th career win with the Patriots during the 2019-2020 season, and this season he also led them to 19 wins for the first time since the 2013-2014 season. Prior to joining the staff at UC, Reeves spent 14 seasons with Gardner Webb, where he led them to a program record 216 wins. Reeves has won Big South Coach of the Year four times, and is the only coach in Big South history to have led two conference teams to the NCAA tournament, and he has guided his teams to six postseason runs at the NCAA DI level. Reeves also spent three seasons as head coach for Cumberlands prior to joining UC, and there he brought his team to three top-20 finishes. 


Roger Hodge - West Virginia University Tech

This upcoming season will be Roger Hodge’s second year as Head Coach for WVU Tech. Prior to joining the staff for the Golden Bears, Hodge was the Head Coach at Armstrong Atlantic State, where he became the school’s all-time winningest coach with over 130 wins. In 2003, he was named Peach Belt and South Atlantic Region Coach of the Year. During the 2021-2022 season, Hodge led the Golden Bears to a 10-3 record at home and a 16 win season. He also led the team to the River States Conference semifinal game, where they played a close game.



Russ Davis - Vanguard

Russ Davis is in his 26th season as Head Coach for Vanguard University. Davis has been named NAIA Coach of the year four times, and in 2008 he led the Lions to an NAIA Championship. He has been inducted into both the NAIA and the Vanguard Hall of Fame. He is first in active NAIA coaches with overall win percentage with a .806, and he has led his teams to 12 GSAC titles. He has been awarded GSAC Coach of the Year nine times, and is the all-time leader in the GSAC in wins and winning percentage. Davis has led the Lions to 21 trips to the NAIA National Tournament and five Fab Four appearances. Under Davis, the Lions have been ranked first in the nation 44 times. Vanguard is one of the only programs to have spent an entire season ranked number one, which the Lions did twice under Davis in the 05-06 season and the 06-07 season. 


Rusty Rogers - Arizona Christian

Rusty Rogers will be entering his fourth season as Head Coach of Arizona Christian. In just his second year as coach of the Firestorm, he led the team to their best winning percentage in school history. Rogers has over 37 years of coaching experience, and has over 720 total career wins. Prior to joining the Firestorm, Rogers was a coach at Concordia-Chicago, where the Cougars advanced to the NACC all but one season under Rogers. He also made a name for himself at Western Oregon University, where he guided the Wolves to two NAIA DII National Championships. He won back to back NAIA Coach of the Year honors with WOU. During his tenure at NAIA schools, Rogers has coached seven All-Americans and two National Players of the Year.


Ryan Showman - Kansas Wesleyan

Ryan Showman is in his 10th season as Head Coach of Kansas Wesleyan. During the 2019-2020 season, Showman led KWU to its first ever KCAC Regular Season Championship and finished with an overall record of 26-6. This season they also made their second straight appearance in the NAIA National Championships and won the first round before COVID halted the tournament. Showma has become KWU’s all-time win leader, and he was also awarded with the KCAC Coach of the Year award and WBCA-NAIA Region 2 Coach of the Year honors. During the 2018-2019 season, Showman led the Coyotes to 18 conference wins, which is the most in program history, and their 21 overall wins marked the third time Showman led KWU to a 20+ win season. 


Scott Meredith - Oregon Tech

Oregon Tech Head Coach Scott Meredith will be entering his 13th season at the helm of the Lady Owls program. Meredith has led Oregon Tech to 2 CCC Tournament Championships and 5 appearances in the NAIA National Tournament, including two Sweet Sixteen appearances. Meredith has won 70% of his games as a head Coach, and has almost 250 career wins. Meredith has made an impact on and off the court, for his 2015-2016 team had the highest grade point average for any collegiate women’s basketball team in the country. 


Shannon Spataro - Menlo

Shannon Spataro is entering her 16th year as Head Coach for Menlo College. Recent seasons under Spataro have been some of the most successful in the history of the program. Under Spataro, the Oaks won three consecutive Cal Pac tournament titles from 2012-14, won four consecutive regular season titles, and reached the NAIA DI Quarterfinals for the first time in program history. In the 2017-2018 with Spataro at the lead, the Oaks reached their first ever GSAC playoff tournament and earned a top-15 ranking for the first time in DI of the NAIA. Spataro boasts 204 wins with the Oaks, and she has reached the CPC Tournament Championship game five of seven seasons and won the CPC Tournament 3 of the final four years in the conference. 


Shawn Reed - Tabor

Shawn Reed took over as Head Coach for Tabor in 2011, and is entering his 11th season with the Bluejays. Under Reed, the Bluejays have won three KCAC regular season titles, five KCAC tournament championships, and made it to the NAIA National Tournament six times, including one Sweet Sixteen appearance and two Elite 8 appearances. While at Tabor, Reed has won the Lonnie Kruse KCAC Coach of the Year honors three times, and led his teams to six 20+ win seasons. Reed has over 200 career wins. He has also led Tabor’s Women’s Basketball to posting the highest team GPA in the KCAC four of the past five years. 


Steve Williamson - Iowa Wesleyan

Steve Williamson is entering his 2nd season as Head Coach for the Iowa Wesleyan Tigers. Prior to joining the Tigers, Williamson spent four years at William Penn, where he had a 78-19 record and made three appearances at the NAIA DI National Championships. His team at WPU won the Heart regular season crown for the first time in 31 years during the 2018-2019 season, and they claimed the first ever conference title in program history. Williamson was named Heart Coach of the Year twice. Williamson spent 13 years at Iowa Wesleyan before he left for WPU, and during his first tenure at IW, he had 246 wins, six conference titles, five trips to the NAIA National Tournament, and three appearances at the USCAA National Tournament. Williamson was named Conference Coach of the Year three times. 


Sue Sylijebeck - Siena Heights

Sue Sylijebeck is entering her 18th season as Head Coach, as well as her second year as Athletic Director for SHU. Sylijebeck has the most wins as a coach in program history with 311 victories. Under Sylijebeck, the Saints have made five NAIA Tournament appearances, and the 2019-2020 season ended with a 27-6 record, tying the 78-79 Saints for most wins in a season. Sylijebeck has led the Saints to seven 20+ win seasons during her tenure, and also guided the Saints to a 17-3 record in WHAC conference play in 2019-2020, which was the best league mark in program history.


Tiffani Selhorst - Indiana University East

Tiffani Selhorst is entering her 9th season as Head Coach for IU East. In her time at IUE, she has led the Red Wolves to three 20+ win seasons, an RSC Tournament Championship, and three NAIA Tournament appearances. In just her second season at the helm of IUE’S program, Selhorst led the Red Wolves to a 22 win season, a conference division championship, and the program’s first appearance in the NAIA DII Women’s Basketball National Championship.This led to the program’s first All-America player and first All-conference honorees. In her third year, the Red Wolves won the River State Conference tournament for the first time and advanced to the Sweet 16 at the NAIA DII Championship. 


Tim Hays - Southeastern

Tim Hays joined Southeastern as the Head Coach in 2016. In just his first season, SEU had 28 victories, a Sun Conference regular season and tournament championship, and a first round win in the NAIA DII Women’s Basketball National Championship. In his second season he led the Fire to a second-straight undefeated season with 27 wins, a third straight TSC Championship, and a fourth consecutive appearance in the NAIA National Championship. Hays has led the Storm to six consecutive Sun Conference Regular season championships, and has over 300 career wins total. Prior to Southeastern, Hays was HC at the NCAA DII Colorado Christian University, where he led the Cougars to a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championship and a trip to the NCAA Tournament. 


Tory Wooley - Point

The upcoming season will mark Tory Wooley’s 10th season as Head Coach for Point University. In 2018, Wooley gained his 100th victory with the Skyhawks, and now has over 170 career wins. Under Wooley, Point has had three consecutive seasons with 21 or more wins. In Wooley’s first season as head coach, he led the Lady Skyhawks to a 14-win season, which surpassed the combined win total of the previous two teams. In the 2015-2016 and 2016-2017 seasons, Point led the teams to a program-record 23 wins in both seasons. During the 2015-2016 season, Wooley was named NCCAA South Region Coach of Year after he led the Skyhawks to a South Region Tournament Championship. Wooley is an alumni of Point, and a former player for the men’s basketball team. 


Tracy Stewart-Lange - Lyon

Tracy Stewart-Lange, an alumna and member of Lyon’s Athletic Hall of Fame, is entering her 17th year as head coach for the Scots. During the 2019-2020 season, Stewart-Lange was named the AMC Coach of the Year for the third time in her career after she led Lyon to its first AMC Regular season title since the 2015-2016 season. This season she also led the Scots to 23 conference victories, the most in program history. Stewart-Lange boasts over 300 career wins, and has led Lyon to multiple 20+ win seasons and multiple NAIA National Tournament appearances.


Wes Keller - Rocky Mountain

Wes Keller has been at the helm of the Rocky Mountain Women’s Basketball program for six seasons. Under Keller, the Battlin’ Bears averaged 21 wins per season, and have had 4 appearances in the NAIA DI Women’s Basketball National Championship. Keller has coached six players honored by the NAIA All-American committee. Prior to starting as the Head Coach for the women’s team, Keller spent 8 seasons assisting with the men’s program. While with the men’s team, they won the Frontier Conference regular season championship, back-to-back Frontier Conference tournament championships, and made it to the NAIA National Tournament three times, one resulting in an NAIA DI National Championship. 


Steve Bruce - Indiana University South Bend

Steve Bruce is entering his 16th season as head coach for Indiana University South Bend, as well as entering his seventh year as Executive Director of Athletics. Bruce has led the Titans to nine Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament appearances, advancing past the first round on three occasions, as well as guiding the Titans to seven winning seasons and three 20 win seasons. Every season but one under Bruce, an IU South Bend women’s basketball player has been named to the CCAC All-Conference list. Bruce has a career total of 229 wins. Prior to IUSB, Bruise was an associate head coach at Valparaiso University, where he was a part of the most successful run in program history.
